Ivan Ramirez is a Venezuelan sculptor, painter, and visual artist born in Tovar, Mérida. He began his artistic training at the Elbano Mendez Osuna Cultural Center in Tovar, where he studied drawing, painting, screen printing, and engraving. He later attended the University of the Andes (ULA) in Mérida, specializing in sculpture and human anatomy under the mentorship of renowned artist and professor Dora Natella, from the University of Oregon, USA. His natural talent and dedication quickly set him apart, paving the way for a distinguished career in the fine arts.
Working from his studio in Tovar and now based in New York, Ivan creates original figurative and abstract works using materials such as bronze, stone, wood, and polyester resin. His portfolio includes major solo exhibitions like Narrativa Terrenal (2021) and Percepciones Inefables (2022), as well as a monumental sculpture dedicated to the Virgin of Solitude in Anzoátegui (2023). His work has been showcased throughout Venezuela and internationally, including in Colombia, Aruba, the Bahamas, and the U.S. He is currently working with New York Folklore and has earned numerous awards and recognition. Ivan is open to collaborations and commissions for both public and private spaces.
